What is a Fine Art Giclée print?

Giclée prints involve using very highly calibrated and fine resolution inkjet printers to print using pigment inks onto professional art papers. Often viewed as the highest quality printing you can achieve with unrivalled archival properties, this process delivers exceptional results with no compromise on quality. When only the best will do.

What is a photographic print?

Photographic prints are the perfect choice for professional photographers. Often slightly cheaper than Giclée prints but with no compromise on print quality. Using the latest state of the art inkjet printers with 12 colours gives prints fantastic colour, sharp details and a stunning tonal range. We only use the best professional archival photographic papers, printed at an impressive 2400dpi, photographic prints at their best.

How do I choose the best paper type for printing my work?

Most photographers & artists find the Giclée or photographic process most effective for highly detailed art reproduction. It also has the side benefits of being fast, cost effective and with very consistent colour reproduction. Whatever print options you choose, you can find a paper that not only complements your subject matter but adds a style and feel to your work.

How long will my print last?

Your prints are produced to last. We only use the finest art papers and very best professional photography papers to print on, giving you confidence in your purchase. Our inks are archival Canon lucia water based pigments and are highly UV resistant ensuring a colourful, sharp pristine looking prints that will last for 80+ years in the right conditions. To keep your prints at their absolute best It is important for it not to be in direct sunlight or humid conditions for prolonged periods.

What is the smallest size you can print?

What is the largest size you can print?

What sizes do you do?

Our unique software and printing process means you can choose any custom sizes you’d like for your prints (within our smallest and largest sizes). You no longer have to conform to set sizes, choose the best fit for your images. We do also offer standard sizes and have a list of our most popular sizes available if you want to narrow your choices down.

I'd like my prints to have a border, how can I do this?

It’s never been easier to do this. Use our new software during the ordering process to add any size of border to your prints.

If I order a border on my print, will I lose part of my image?

No. The white border is added around the outside of your image. The format and size of your image will not change – we will automatically increase the dimensions to include the width of the white border. This will in turn give you a higher quality and more refined look to the image and also make it easier when it comes to mounting and framing.

Can I choose the size of my print border?

Yes. Our totally custom software enables you to choose your border size, you can do this during the ordering process. The white border is added around the outside of your image. The format and size of your image will not change – we will automatically increase the dimensions to include the width of the white border. Larger borders will give your work a higher quality refined look and helps when it comes to mounting, framing or adding signatures and text to your prints.

What file types do you accept?

We can print from the following file types TIFF, JPEG, PNG, PDF and HEIC. If your file is not one of these types, you will need to convert the file before uploading.

What image resolution should my image be?

We recommend 300dpi for your images. Although it’s not essential, you can simply use our preview software to order and we’ll do the rest.

How should I size my images for uploading?

You no longer need to size your image before uploading. You can use our websites preview software to crop or resize your image to exactly what you’d like. However, if you would like to crop or resize your image to the exact size you’d like the final canvas to be, you can watch our video guide on how to do this in Photoshop – link.

Can you colour match?

We aim to colour match every image file you upload, however differences can occur, the key is to limit the differences as much as we can. Due to the variety of computer screens available, there may be colour variations from what you see on your monitor/ laptop. We calibrate our Eizo and Mac studio monitors weekly to ensure we see your files as accurately as possible. We’d strongly recommend you also calibrate your screen with a device like the i1 Profiler. This will help you get the correct screen brightness and colours and lets you see closely what we’re seeing. Please note we do not colour correct images but will contact you if we notice anything abnormal.

What colour space should I use for my file?

We recommend your file be in the RGB colour space as this will give you a greater colour gamut  (better colours) than CMYK. Choose any of these for great printed results AdobeRGB/ sRGB/ ProPhotoRGB

How do I amend my basket?

If you’ve started your order and placed items in your basket, but realise you need to add extra prints or artwork, you can amend the quantities from the basket.

We aim to get all orders printed and dispatched within 24/ 48 hours.

How are your products packaged?

Our team takes care to ensure your products are securely packaged. Your prints are wrapped up using 100% recyclable packaging and depending on size they will come flat or rolled in a cardboard tube. All recyclable materials used are FSC certified.

How should I size my images for uploading?

You no longer need to size your image before uploading. You can use our website’s preview software to crop or resize your image to exactly what you’d like.
