Colour Management

Colour Management

Why Should You Calibrate Your Monitor?

arrow

Calibration helps you achieve the best results from your work by ensuring you see the correct brightness and colours in your edits.

How to Calibrate Your Monitor

arrow

When calibrating your monitor, set your white point to the industry-standard CIE illuminant D65 setting, with a recommended brightness of 90 to 110 cd/m². Most monitors are too bright, which can cause your work to appear too dark once printed. We recommend using an X-Rite spectrophotometer for calibration. Here’s a helpful video guide to calibrating your screen: [LINK].

Can We Colour Match?

arrow

We aim to colour match every image file you upload, but some differences may occur due to the variety of computer screens available. We calibrate our Eizo and Mac studio monitors weekly to ensure accurate representation of your files. We strongly recommend calibrating your screen with a device like the i1 Profiler to achieve the correct brightness and colours. Please note that we do not colour correct images but will contact you if we notice anything abnormal.

What is Soft Proofing?

arrow

Soft proofing provides an onscreen preview of the colours achievable with our specific combination of printers, media, and inks. Our print profiles are tailored to our equipment, with each paper profiled and tested to maximise the range of colours from each printer.

Can I Soft Proof on an Uncalibrated Screen?

arrow

No, your monitor must be calibrated to correctly soft proof.
